Why Christmas is the best time for commercial plumbing repairs

The Christmas season is a time to spend with family and friends, and for many people it’s a time to take a break from work or school. Over the holidays, our Nuflow teams work with facility managers at schools, universities, and commercial offices around Australia to help make the most of the quieter time to repair and maintain pipes.

It’s an opportune time to get an annual check-up, to get ahead of any issues that might be small now, but that could turn into an expensive problem down the track. Here are some of the reasons that we reckon Christmas is a great time to get your commercial pipe repair work sorted.

WHY THE HOLIDAYS ARE THE BEST TIME FOR COMMERCIAL PLUMBING REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE

With Christmas just around the corner, now is the time to get your pipe maintenance taken care of. Here are three reasons Christmas is the best time to get your repairs booked in.

1. THERE ARE LESS PEOPLE ON SITE

Over Christmas, there are often fewer people on the premises, particular at schools and unis. From a health and safety perspective, this can make it easier to manage, with less foot and vehicle traffic.

2. IT’S EASIER TO GO OFFLINE

Downtime can be costly, and the less people and operations disrupted the better. If you need to shut down any facilities, a quiet time like the Christmas holidays is the time to do it.

With Nuflow’s pipe relining technology, in most cases we don’t need to stop operations at all to get the job done. Find out more about our commercial repair and maintenance solutions.

3. IT CAN BE MORE ACCESSIBLE TO GET TO THE SITE

If you need repairs or maintenance in a high-traffic area, it can be easier to access these areas with vehicles and equipment when people are away on holidays. While our on-site footprint is very small, it’s even easier to get access while it’s quieter.

COMMON TYPES OF COMMERCIAL REPAIRS

Here are a few of the most common types commercial pipe damage we see, and how we fix them.

CRACKED OR DAMAGED SEWER PIPES

If sewer pipes are cracked or blocked, sewerage can leak and cause health problems.

How we fix it

We use our Blueline pipe relining product to seal off any leaks or cracks in sewer mains. With Blueline, we create a pipe within the existing pipes which can be installed in junctions, bends, horizontal or vertical pipes, to repair them without needing to replace them completely.

For sewer or stormwater systems that require load bearing capacity, like drains that run under roadways or railways, we use our custom Sumoline pipe reline product. Sumoline is a long-lasting, fully structural and load-bearing solution for your broken or blocked sewer, which we install without digging or excavating to minimize disruption and damage to your grounds.

DETERIORATING FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS

If fire suppression systems deteriorate, they are less reliable and can even be prone to failure.

How we fix it

Our Redline epoxy relining solution can be used on pressurized copper, black steel, or galvanized pipes. It seals off leaks and cracks without the need to replace the pipes entirely, which can be a costly exercise. The Redline solution can be used on pipes from 12mm to 300mm.

DEGRADED OR DAMAGED MANHOLE

When a manhole deteriorates, it can cause groundwater infiltration and become a health hazard.

How we fix it

With Nuflow’s manhole rehabilitation system, we repair any cracks and seal against water infiltration to create a lasting, structurally sound solution. The manhole rehabilitation system also creates an ongoing resistance to H2S and microbial-induced corrosion (MIC).
