Relining of Multiple Stormwater Pipe Sections

NUFLOW NORTHWEST SYDNEY
Industrial Manufacturing Facility | MELROSE PARK NSW

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Nuflow was engaged to rehabilitate several damaged sections of underground stormwater pipe at the rear of the facility. The aging 150mm and 100mm pipes had developed fractures and structural deterioration, posing risks to both site safety and drainage efficiency. With traditional excavation ruled out due to restricted access, tight timeframes, and the need to minimise operational disruption, trenchless relining was chosen as the most effective solution. The project scope included relining two 4-metre sections and one 5-metre section of 150mm pipe, along with an additional 3.5-metre section of 100mm pipe identified during the works. To enable a seamless installation, custom bladders were manufactured and tested ahead of schedule, allowing crews to begin work immediately upon arrival on-site.

THE CHALLENGE

  • Multiple fractured and deteriorated stormwater pipes (150mm & 100mm) at the rear of the facility
  • Structural deterioration threatening drainage efficiency and site safety
  • Restricted access behind the building made traditional excavation unfeasible
  • Tight timeframe requiring efficient, non- invasive rehabilitation
  • Need to minimise disruption to Speedibake’s daily operations

THE SOLUTION

NuFlow deployed a specialised team to carry out the pipe relining works over multiple days. The project followed a systematic approach:

THE RESULTS

The relining works successfully restored the structural integrity of all targeted stormwater pipes, eliminating the need for excavation and replacement. The 4-metre and 5-metre liners were installed as specified, with CCTV verification confirming their effectiveness. The additional 3.5-metre reline on the 100mm blue line pipe also set well, ensuring proper flow and preventing further deterioration. All works were carried out within the scheduled timeframe, and safety standards were strictly maintained, with temporary barriers and fencing securing the site throughout the project. Upon completion, all fencing, bollards, and equipment were packed down and removed, leaving the facility with renewed and structurally sound stormwater assets.

Nuflow was engaged to address a failed 100 mm PVC sewer line behind D Block at a NSW high school, where a broken inspection opening caused effluent spillage onto synthetic grass. Using trenchless Blueline relining, NuFlow restored sewer integrity without excavation, eliminated odour and health risks, and reopened the affected outdoor area with minimal disruption.

Nuflow was engaged to restore critical stormwater drainage and install a new stormwater pit at a NSW school site. The works resolved persistent ponding and flooding risks, ensuring reliable drainage for student safety and facility protection, all delivered with minimal disruption to school operations.
