Regional CCTV Investigation of Sewer and Stormwater Networks

NUFLOW NORTHWEST PIPE REHABILITATION
BOURKE SHIRE COUNCIL

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Nuflow was engaged by Bourke Shire council to conduct a large-scale CCTV investigation of sewer and stormwater pipelines across several sites within the region. The project involved surveying pipes ranging from 150mm to 300mm in diameter, capturing detailed condition data to identify defects, prioritize urgent works, and provide the foundation for a tailored relining proposal.

To maximize efficiency, NuFlow deployed specialized tractor camera equipment and a skilled team equipped for confined space entry, gas testing, and recovery operations. The works were scheduled across a five-day allowance, covering multiple locations and ensuring that the council had a clear, evidence-based understanding of its underground assets.

CHALLENGE

  • Inspecting sewer and stormwater lines across multiple council sites.
  • Detecting urgent issues such as collapses, root intrusion, or structural defects requiring priority action.
  • Safely accessing confined spaces while meeting all WHS requirements.
  • Coordinating the transport and operation of specialized equipment across different locations.
  • Delivering maximum survey coverage within the allocated five-day timeframe.
  • Providing clear outputs to support long-term asset management planning.

THE SOLUTION

NuFlow implemented a structured and mobile investigation program to ensure coverage across all identified council sites.

THE RESULTS

NuFlow successfully delivered a region-wide CCTV investigation program that provided the council with actionable insights into the condition of its sewer and stormwater infrastructure. The findings identified urgent repairs as well as sections suitable for proactive rehabilitation, helping the council prioritize investment and extend the service life of its assets.

By combining advanced camera technology, safe work practices, and efficient regional project delivery, NuFlow enabled the council to make informed decisions that will reduce future maintenance costs and minimize service disruptions for the community.
